MORDA United were among the leading clubs in Shropshire during the 1980s.

The current club was reformed from the ashes of the club which has enjoyed spells on both sides of the border.

From 1988 until 1994 the club played in the Mid Wales League and from 1996 until 2004 they competed in the English West Midlands League.

The club is currently bidding to climb back up through the English pyramid from the Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier League.

The Tizer has trawled through its archive to share pictures from Morda's match with the curiously named Saltofix in 1986.

The match was played at the long lost Victoria Road, the spiritual home of Oswestry Town Football Club, which was torn down in the late 1980s.
