A barn has been "completely destroyed" by fire which was tackled by four fire stations from across north and mid Powys.

Crews from Newtown, Llanfair Caereinion, Montgomery and Llandrindod Well were sent to the scene of the fire near Aberhafesp and Tregynon on Saturday afternoon (April 23).

No animals were inside the timber structured building but firefighters said a motorcycle and parked car were burnt in the fire.

A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "On Saturday, April 23, at 1.44pm, crews from Newtown, Llanfair Caereinion, Montgomery and Llandrindod Wells attended a barn fire near Aberhafesp, Newtown.

"The agricultural barn, measuring approximately 10-feet by 30-feet, was completely destroyed by the fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire using four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jets, a water hydrant and small gear.

"The Fire Service left the incident at 3.55pm."
