Newtown Carnival has been postponed for another year due to a lack of funding.
Organisers said there were not enough people to hold the event.
As one of the town’s biggest highlights of the year, the carnival was planned to take place on Saturday, June 11.
It is expected to make a return following a three-year hiatus on June 10, 2023.
“But it's not all doom and gloom," carnival organisers said. "We have lots of fun fundraising events planned for this year, so please support us to make sure carnival 2023 is the best one yet!”

Newtown councillor David Selby added: “Sad news but we understand the problems and the amount of work required to run a successful carnival. Let's support the fundraising for next year.”
In March, organisers called for entertainers, singers, dance groups and acts to apply to take part in the carnival.
