Detectives are continuing with their investigation into a stabbing near a bus station in Newtown.

A 37-year-old man was taken to hospital following the serious assault in Back Lane in October 2021.

Chief Inspector Jacqui Lovatt said arrests had been made and police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbing.

Three males were arrested and released on conditional bail while the investigation continues into the attack which happened at around 4am on Sunday, October 10.

Police said one of the trio was found with a knife when officers arrested them.

The victim received medical treatment and was discharged from hospital shortly after the incident.

A section of Newtown town centre at the Newtown Bus Station and Wesley Street was cordoned off on October 10 while forensic teams gathered evidence.
