Cwmdauddwr near Rhayader is the most expensive area to buy a house in the area.

A new tool by home sales company Property Solvers tracked average sold price data from HM Land since early 2016 to see where the highest and lowest-priced homes are located across the LD postcodes.

On Cwmdauddwr (LD6), three properties sold for an average of £703,333.

Far behind came Defynnog (LD3) near Brecon where four properties sold for an average of £593,000 while in Felindre (LD7) near Knighton three properties sold for an average of £510,000.

The company also revealed the more affordable parts of the postcode area to get on the property ladder.

Some of the cheapest streets include Granville (LD1) in Llandrindod Wells where three properties sold for an average of £45,000), Arvon House (LD1) where three properties sold for an average of £50,833 and Belmont (LD1) where five properties sold for an average of £56,600.

Property Solvers co-founder Ruban Selvanayagam said: “To keep the data less skewed, we only ranked the streets that had over three sales.

“It’s therefore worth noting that, in recent years, a property on Evenjobb (LD8) sold for £1,050,000 and, at the other end of the market, there were properties that sold for £54,000 and under at the Lion Hotel, Broad Street, Builth Wells (LD2), Broadmead (LD1) and Station Crescent (LD1)."
