BERRIEW made light work of Carno with a 5-0 win sealing their place in the semi-finals of the Ardal North League Cup.

Ed Baker netted twice with Joe Haycock also on target as the Rhiewsiders established a comfortable lead at Ty Brith before second-half strikes from Marc Jones and George Mitten settled the outcome.

Berriew could have added a sixth only for Josh Evans to fluff his lines from the penalty spot.

Caersws also booked their semi-final date with a 4-0 win at Kerry as Will Thomas starred with a first-half hat-trick before Luke Mumford returned to haunt his former club with a fourth.

Meanwhile Rhayader Town boosted their Ardal South East survival bid with a 2-1 win at home to Panteg.

The Red Kites led through Joe Wozencraft after 33 minutes and doubled their lead before the break as Tommy Rowlands struck.

Panteg hit back to reduce the arrears through Ashley Jayne midway through the second-half but the hosts dug deep to celebrate their third league win of the campaign.

Meanwhile Llandrindod Wells had to be content with a point following a 2-2 draw at Trethomas Bluebirds.

Levi Rees' strike separated the sides at the break but the Spamen hit back after the interval with Kieran McCarley and Jack Evans netting in as many minutes.

However the home side hit back for a point with 15 minutes remaining as Andrew Smith struck.

Elsewhere Four Crosses handed Cefn Albion an early fright before crashing to a 4-1 defeat in Ardal North East.

Rhys Owen fired Crosses ahead after 10 minutes before the hosts stormed back to lead with goals from Alex Williams and Conner Kendrick.

Ben Simms spurned a penalty and Crosses were punished as Jamie Foulkes converted a spot kick at the other end before the break before Callum Mannion completed the scoring after the interval.

Meanwhile Llanfair United returned to the top of the table after toiling for a 2-0 win at home to 10 man Corwen.

Josh Astley's 60th minute strike separated the sides when Scott Evans saw red for the visitors before Max McLaughlin's injury time strike settled the home side's nerves.
