A MISSING Newtown schoolboy has been found after his family had issued an appeal for help to find him.

Obie Pierce went missing from Newtown High School on Friday morning (January 21). His family said they were “desperate” to find Obie and wanted to know he’s safe.

Various images were shared on Facebook over the weekend, with Obie’s grandmother Lynette Reid posting an appeal. She said: “Obie Pierce, my grandson, went missing from Newtown High School yesterday morning, Friday 21st, at approximately 11.30am.

“He's got short dark hair, is 5'3" and was last wearing school uniform and a hooded black padded jacket.

“We've not seen or heard from him since yesterday morning and he doesn't have a mobile phone with him. His family and police have been looking for him and we are asking all his friends, but still no news.

“Please get in touch with us if you have seen him or have him staying overnight with your daughter or son. He is a vulnerable, missing child and we desperately want to know that he's safe.”

Updates posted later in the day revealed that Obie had been found and was now back at home.

Anyone with information regarding Obie’s whereabouts is asked to call police on 101 or 07826333632.
