A host of weekend matches have been postponed across mid Wales - less than a week after the Football Association of Wales (FAW) cleared lower leagues to resume.

While the JD Cymru Premier and second tiers remain in lockdown, the FAW gave the green light to clubs in the third division and below to resume in front of a maximum of 50 supporters from this Saturday.

However a combination of player shortages due to covid cases and inability to adhere to the Welsh Government's supporter cap has led to a vast majority of fixtures being postponed.

The third round of the Central Wales Cup has seen nine of its scheduled ties cancelled.

Brecon Corries v Carno; Bow Street v Rhayader Town; Newtown Wanderers v Tregaron Turfs; Penparcau v Llanfair United; Berriew v Dolgellau AA; Llanrhaeadr v Knighton Town; Llansantffraid v Radnor Valley; Welshpool Town v Llandrindod Wells and Barmouth Utd v Machynlleth have all been postponed.

The MMP-NL Mid Wales League East clash between Dyffryn Banw and Newcastle Emlyn - the longest fourth tier round trip in the fourth tier of Welsh football - has also been cancelled along with Talgarth Town's Watson Financial Mid Wales League South derby at home to Hay St Marys Reserves.
