A ROAD near Machynlleth remains closed this morning as flooding continues.
The Pont ar Ddyfi on the A487 was closed yesterday after the River Dovey burst its banks.
Dyfed Powys Police is asking motorists to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
A flood alert remains in place for the area after it was issued by Natural Resources Wales at 12.46pm on Thursday, December 30.
A spokesperson said: "Flooding is possible for the A487 north of Machynlleth.
"In addition to the area detailed, some localised flooding problems may result from surface water. River levels are above normal.
"We will continue to monitor the situation."

Meanwhile, a flood alert remains in place for the River Dyfi from Dinas Mawddwy and Llanbrynmair to the estuary.
Other flood alerts are in place across Powys including the Upper Severn and the Vyrnwy catchment.
An update on those is expected from NRW before 10am on Friday, December 31.
