JANUARY is a time for new beginnings, fresh challenges and renewed optimism.
It is also a time to look back at past years and reminisce on what was happening in Powys in January's of the past.
The County Times has delved deep into its archive to share five pictures from past January's. Recognise any familiar faces? Tag them and let them know.
We begin with Ysgol Dafydd Llwyd in Newtown whose pupils took part in their Urdd 2004 Swimming Gala and achieved first in the Freestyle Relay.
Next we venture to 2005 and see Heulwen Davies, Ursula Donally, Gwyneth Gethin, Cledwyn Swancott and Elvira Clark of the Newtown based Painting for Pleasure group.
2008 was a great year for the North Powys County Youth Brass Band which took part in a contest at Cross Quays in Gwent and came second in all of Britain.
In 2012 the Powys High Schools Indoor Athletics Finals were held at Llandrindod Wells Leisure Centre with the Montgomeryshire side pictured.
In the same yeat Gemma Price and Amber Owen of Llanidloes High School representing Powys in the 100m freestyle and 100m Breaststoke at the Urdd swimming finals.
