A rugby team will be running in their underwear through a Powys border town in memory of their teammate Dylan Price.

Bishop's Castle and Onny Valley RFC is aiming to raise £100 for the Young Minds charity when they take part in the annual fun run on Boxing Day (Sunday, December 26).

The rugby players said this year's race will be in memory of 17-year-old Dylan who sadly died in a collision on the eve of his 18th birthday.

The club has urged for people to turn out and cheer for the boys and added that anybody is welcome to take part, "the more, the merrier".

Participants can go to The Kings Head for 2pm, or any other pub in town, to take part or watch the local rugby club brave the cold.

The route will begin at The Kings Head, up the High Street and past the Co-op and The Crown and Anchor Vaults. The team will then whiz past the Dragons Lair chinese takeaway then up through The Castle Hotel car park. From The Three Tuns Inn, the squad ill go back down the street and along the path to Bishop's Castle Community College, past St John the Baptist Church and Six Bells Brewery before arriving back at the Kings Head.

The popular teenager was walking in Brampton Road between Lydbury North and Bishop's Castle in the early hours of September 19.

Police officers are still trying to find the person responsible for causing Dylan's fatal injuries.

The much-loved 17-year-old had been in the Bishop's Castle team that played Powys-Shropshire border rivals Tref-y-Clawdd on the day before his tragic death.

The club paid tribute to their teammate who "forever be a part of Bishops Castle Rugby Club and will never be forgotten".

"Words cannot describe the feelings the boys are going through at the club right now," the statement read.

"Dylan Price was not only a club member or team mate he was a friend, a brother and always a smile everyone loved to see around the changing room.

"He always gave his everything in to all he did, not just on the rugby pitch."
