FIREFIGHTERS from both sides of the Welsh border were called out to rescue a cow on Tuesday night.
But the animal managed to make its own way out of the slurry pit in it was stuck in without any assistance.
The incident happened in Alberbury at 4.51pm and saw crews from Welshpool joined by teams from Shrewsbury who planned to use rescue tender to free the cow.
A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "A cow had become stuck in a slurry pit but managed to walk out from the pit.
"No action was taken by the fire service and crews left the incident at 6.12pm."
