A WELSH border glamping site is holding its first fully catered residential cuisine weekend.

The special weekend at Barnutopia in Llansilin, near Oswestry, will feature wine, cheese and chocolate and will be held at the venue from April 22 to April 24, 2022.

Following the success of its Christmas, New Year, Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night themes packages, Barnutopia owner Katrina Boydon decided to host a cuisine themed weekend.

As a Llangollen native, Welsh-themed cooking was her first choice.

She said: “I am very excited to be sharing the best of Welsh cuisine with guests. There is no shortage of excellent wine, cheese and chocolate in Wales.

"If you can’t come yourself, the weekend would make a great gift for friends and family.”

The Welsh theme includes a decorated barn, a quiz on Friday night and wine, cheese and chocolate tasting sessions on Saturday afternoon. All the food and drink at the tasting events are sourced from Wales as well as the cuisine for the main meals.

Barnutopia is located on the Shropshire-Powys border within view of the Gyrn Moelfre mountain, near Llansilin, Oswestry.

Regarding their location, Katrina said: “We are technically in Shropshire, however we are very much part of Llansilin village. I’m Welsh and nearly all of my employees come from Llansilin or further into Wales.”
