MACHYNLLETH Comedy Festival has started announcing names scheduled to perform at the town’s annual show.

Big name comedians such as Nish Kumar, Rosie Jones and Kiri Pritchard McLean are just some of the names revealed to be appearing at Machynlleth from April 29 to May 1, 2022.

In an advent style reveal where a new act is announced every day, the festival organisers are now halfway through announcing their complete list of comedians performing at the festival.

Other comedians attending include Stephen Bailey, Angela Barnes, John Osborne, Leila Navabi, Jonny Pelham, Catherine Bohart, Rob Auton, Stuart Goldsmith and Chloe Petts, with more names to follow.

Described by Rhod Gilbert as “one of the best festivals in the world”, Machynlleth Comedy Festival offers a variety of stand up shows, from touring comics to fringe festival performances and even acts that are works in progress.

This variation is what led Nish Kumar, scheduled to perform at Machynlleth in 2022 as “the comedy fan’s comedy festival.”

Notable performers in previous years include Josh Widdecombe, Ed Gamble and Milton Jones. Following a year’s absence of live stand-up in 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic, the festival returned at full force in 2021 and looking to be even bigger and better in 2022.
