A delivery driver had a lucky escape after his van was destroyed as a fire tore through it in a village near Newtown.
Firefighters were called to the fire at Sarn Village Hall car park at around 3pm yesterday (Thursday).
Montgomery Fire Station said that fortunately the driver was out of the van unharmed when they arrived at the car park.
Dramatic photos shared on social media of the incident show the driver and passenger area of the van fully on fire.
A fire crew used a thermal imaging camera, two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. They also used cutting gear to gain access to cargo area of the van.
