I obviously wasn’t the only reader who noted that of the six letters featured in November 5th’s edition of the County Times, four of them concerned the climate crisis.
Perhaps this is why Russell George AM and Craig Williams MP can both be seen in November 12 edition of the newspaper, apparently showing their support for the climate action event which took place in Newtown on the same weekend.
So why did Mr Williams support the Government in its recent failure to legally oblige the water companies to limit discharges of raw sewage into Britain’s waterways, and why was Mr George so vehemently opposed to the decision taken by the Welsh Government in the Summer of 2019 to scrap the proposed M4 relief road near Newport, an action that Mark Drakeford stated was motivated in no small part by the global climate crisis and by concerns over local ‘environment impacts’ to the nearby Gwent levels?
