It's one of the most dazzling nights of the year in Newtown when people gather together to celebrate Christmas in style.
Christmas celebrations are beginning to be announced offering everything from Christmas markets to a light show.
Kicking Off Christmas will return to the town centre later this month for a festive spectacle full of lights and sounds, and a special visit from Father Christmas.
Hosted by Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council and Alliance Theatre, this year's light show will take place in the Town Hall grounds at 6pm on Saturday, November 27, which will then be followed by the official Christmas lights switch-on by Newtown Mayor Councillor Richard Williams.
There will also be an opportunity to wander around the Christmas market and support local causes and businesses from 5pm to 8pm inside the Bear Lanes Shopping Centre.
Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council said there will be no town centre road closures associated with the event.
Christmas market stalls can be booked by filling in an online form. To find out more information about the events on November 27, get in touch with the Town Council at enquiries@newtown.org.uk or 01686 625544.
