An antiques valuation event will be held in a Powys border village to support the life-saving work of an air ambulance charity.

Experts from Forster Fine Art and London-based Chiswick Auctions are inviting people to bring along fine art and antiques to The Village Hall, Norbury, near Bishop's Castle on Thursday, November 18, from 12 noon till 4pm.

James Forster, a fine art valuer and consultant who lives locally, and Matt Caddick, a director of Chiswick Auctions, will give potential auction market valuations in return for a donation of £1 per item valued, with all the money going to the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

“We are both looking forward to meeting people in Norbury to value their items and raise money for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity at the same time,” James said. “It would be great if we managed to discover some hidden treasures during the event."

Maria Jones, fundraising executive for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “We are delighted that James from Forster Fine Art and Matt from Chiswick Auctions have chosen to support our lifesaving charity with this valuation event located in Norbury.

“Thanks to help from people and businesses like them, we are able to raise the £10 million we need every year to keep us operational.”

Should owners wish to sell their items, Chiswick Auctions offers a route to London’s international market.

James added: “Being based in London, Chiswick Auctions has access to the international market with a large database of buyers and collectors, which is very beneficial when it comes to achieving the best possible price for consigned items.”

Refreshments will be available during the afternoon, with donations towards the same charity.

Home visits can be arranged on request to view collections or valuable individual items if owners are unable to attend the event. For more information, telephone James on 07887 597302 or email james@forsterfineart.co.uk
