A MOTORIST from Powys has admitted driving at twice the legal speed limit on a motorway.
Barry Jones, of Glancrewi, Penegoes in Machynlleth was clocked driving an Audi at 87 miles per hour between junctions 7 and 8 northbound of the M6 at Birmingham when that section of motorway had been reduced to 40mph.
The offence, which took place on August 8, this year, was captured by an automatic camera.
The 35-year-old pleaded guilty at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on October 20.
He received six penalty points and was fined £440.
He must also pay £110 court costs and a £44 victim surcharge.
