A series of free dance workshops for young people will be held in Newtown during next week's half term break.

Dancers from Welsh company Jones The Dance will teach a new piece from contemporary classes for 10 to 14 year olds which will them be performed in front of family and friends at the end of the week.

Artistic Director for Jones The Dance, Gwyn Emberton said: "We have all been waiting so long to get into the room to dance and create together and finally we can in Newtown.

"We have expanded the summer school idea which we have been running for over five years in Newtown, into a more regular thing, starting this half term. We have called this Jones Bach and the plan is to run week-long workshops in the spring and autumn half terms and during the summer.

The free workshops, which have been supported by the Arts Council of Wales, will run everyday from 9.30am to 12.30pm between Monday, October 25, and Friday,October 29, in the studio at The Hafren.
