LLANRHAEADR slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Holyhead Hotspur as the villagers tough start to the JD Cymru North season continued.

Jay Gibbs broke the deadlock for the hosts after just 10 minutes but player-manager Marc Griffiths hit back for the villagers before the break.

Dylan Summer-Jones restored Holyhead's lead with 20 minutes remaining with Griffiths seeing red late on to complete a miserable day in Anglesey for his side.

Meanwhile Connor Bird starred with a hat-trick as Llanidloes Town avenged defeat the previous week with a 3-2 win at home to Llangefni Town in

Bird's 38th minute separated the sides at the break but the Anglesey visitors levelled through Jack Smith early in the second-half and led when James Phillips struck shortly after the hour.

Bird's second penalty of the day restored parity with six minutes remaining before the ex-Knighton Town striker completed his hat-trick in the final seconds with the visitors ending with nine men following the injury-time dismissals of James Saxon and Jonathan Evans.
