Police officers have seized an electric scooter - after it was being ridden the wrong way down a one way street in a Powys town.

Officers from Dyfed Powys Police say the rider has been reported after he was spotted in Llandrindod Wells yesterday (October 15).

In addition, officers say the rider had no insurance.

Currently, electric scooters are limited in where they can be used, as they are illegal to ride on the footpath and can only be used on public roads and on cycle lanes if rented from a government-approved scheme.

Unless you are on private land, you must also have the category Q entitlement on your driving licence.

A statement from Dyfed Powys Road Policing Unit said: "This electric scooter was being ridden the wrong way down a one way street in Llandrindod Wells.

"Rider stated he had no insurance and was aware he wasn't supposed to be riding it on a road. Seized and rider reported."
