THESE motorists who broke speed limits in Powys have had their cases heard recently by magistrates in Llanelli.

They have all been ordered to pay hundreds of pounds in fines and between them received 18 penalty points.

Hadliegh Jason Wallenberg

A motorcyclist from Hampshire who admitted speeding in Powys has received five penalty points.

Hadliegh Jason Wallenberg, of Cranesfield, Sherborne St John in Basingstoke, was clocked riding his Kawasaki Z1000sx at 86 miles per hour on the A489 Newtown Bypass just after 12.15pm on July 4, this year. The legal limit on that road in 60mph.

He pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, October 13 and was fined £453 in addition to the penalty points.

The 47-year-old must also pay court costs of £90 and a victim surcharge of £45.

Gary Thomas

A motorist has admitted speeding in Llanwrtyd Wells.

Gary Thomas, 41, of Church Street in Rhayader, drove a Ford Transit on the A483 at Llanwrtyd Wells at 38mph on January 20, this year, just after 11.30am. The legal limit on that road is 30mph.

Thomas pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, October 13, and received three penalty points and a £92 fine.

He must also pay £110 court costs and a victim surcharge of £34.

 

Clifford Hayden Parker

A man from Llanwrtyd Wells has admitted speeding on the Newtown Bypass.

Clifford Hayden Parker received three penalty points and a £66 fine after he was caught travelling at 73mph on the 60mph road in a Renault Laguna on April 1, this year, shortly before 5pm.

The 55-year-old of Irfon Terrace was sentenced on Thursday, October 14 at Llanelli Magistrates' Court.

He must also pay court costs of £90 and a victim surcharge of £34.

 

John Pritchard

A motorcyclist from Staffordshire has admitted speeding in Powys.

John Pritchard, of Kingsley Avenue, Cheddleton in Leek, pleaded guilty to riding his BMW S1000rr at 41mph on the A483 Dolfor in Newtown just before midday on May 30, this year. The legal limit on that stretch of road is 30mph.

The 57-year-old received four penalty points, a £317 fine, plus £90 court costs and £34 victim surcharge when he appeared at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Thursday, October 14.

 

Barry Robert Gormley

A Manchester motorist has received three penalty points after he was caught speeding through Llanwrtyd Wells.

Barry Robert Gormley, of Oakfield Grove in Manchester, admitted driving a BMW 330Ci Sport at 38mph on the A483 at Llanwrtyd Wells, which is in a 30mph zone. The offence was committed at 1.20pm on April 5, this year.

Gormley, 55, pleaded guilty at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Thursday, October 14.

He must also pay a £100 fine and £34 victim surcharge.
