LLANDRINDOD Wells came out second best in a 3-2 defeat at home to Caldicot Town the Ardal South East League.

All the goals came in the first-half at Broadway with Ellis Holland breaking the deadlock for the Gwent visitors after 35 minutes.

Kieran McCarley levelled only for two goals in a minute from Jake Clark and Ben Smith to restore Caldicot's lead.

Robbie Nicholls reduced the arrears for the Spamen on the stroke of half-time but Caldicot held firm during the second-half to claim the spoils.

Elsewhere Rhayader Town's testing campaign continued with a 6-1 defeat at home to Trethomas Bluebirds.

Arron Hill netted the opener after five minutes before Alfie Jones doubled the Bluebirds lead on half-time.

Gareth Hole and Gareth Tedstone strikes settled the outcome before Darren Murphy struck for the Red Kites on the hour.

Bradley Goodwin saw red for the hosts with 10 minutes remaining before Trethomas capitalised with Tedstone completing his brace before Iwan John added the sixth.
