LLANRHAEADR'S spirited comeback fell just short in a 3-2 defeat at home to Conwy Borough in JD Cymru North.
Goals from Corrig McGonigle and Meilir Williams gave the Tangerines an interval lead before Chris Whelan looked to have settled the match with a third on the hour.
However Llanrhaeadr hit back with Sam Thomas reducing the arrears only to receive his marching orders barely a minute later.
The 10 men continued to toil and further reduced the deficit with six minutes remaining through Frankie Arkwright's penalty but Conwy held out to claim the spoils.
Guilsfield maintained their superb start to the season thanks to Jamie Hyne's 16th minute strike in a 1-0 derby win at Llanidloes Town.
Meanwhile Penrhyncoch had to be content with a point from a 1-1 draw at Holyhead Hotspur.
Josh Shaw's 13th minute strike gave the Roosters the lead before veteran Mel McGinness levelled after half an hour with the sides proving inseparable for the remainder of the contest.
