A high profile Machynlleth construction project is set to open its doors to the public in October.

Bro Ddyfi Community Hospital in Machynlleth is opening for visitors as part of a week-long event aimed at attracting young people and career changers to consider a career in construction.

In June, the Welsh Government announced the approval of £15million of funding to develop a new community hub at the town's Bro Dyfi Community Hospital, which is says will establish the hospital as an integrated health and well-being facility for the local community.

Now, with construction underway, organisers of the "Open Doors" initiative say they're offering the public a unique chance to go behind the site hoardings of of the site.

Open Doors seeks to inspire young people and career changers of all ages to consider and explore a dynamic and exciting career in the construction industry.

Darren Hancock, Operations Manager at Willmott Dixon said: "We are delighted to be involved in Open Doors again and particularly excited to open Bro Ddyfi community Hospital to the local public of Machynlleth. It is a great platform for us to showcase the hard work that goes into building these landmarks."

As part of the Open Doors scheme, construction firm Willmott Dixon is opening a total of 28 sites throughout the week including Bro Ddyfi Community Hospital and Maelfa Wellbeing Hub, Cardiff.
