The number of coronavirus cases in Powys has increased by more than 350 since the end of last week, official data shows.

Over the weekend, 282 people were confirmed as having contracted Covid-19 in Powys, with a further 71 added to the data today.

A total of 8,938 people have now been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 in Powys throughout the pandemic, up from 8,585 on Friday.

The rate of infection in Powys now stands at 6,749 cases per 100,000 people, far lower than the Wales average of about 11,000.

The seven-day rolling case rate in Powys currently stands at 571 cases per 100,000 people.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 100,228 over the weekend, to 7,701,715.
