A north Powys farm is set to open its gates to the public for three weekends of premium pumpkin picking.

Bontnewydd Farm Foods based at Newbridge Farm, Meifod are set to open their 'Pick your Own' patch from Saturday, October 9 and will stay open each weekend until October 31 - that's if any pumpkins remain.

The farm will be open from 10am until 3pm with one hour booking slots available throughout the day and booking is essential.

Organisers say booking is completed on a 'per car' basis so the booking slot covers your car's entire group to attend (1-5 people).

"A range of small medium large and extra large pumpkins will be available for you to collect from the farm with loads of different varieties from standard jack o lantern type to white ones and warty ones," said a spokesperson.

"While you're visiting us, see if you can spot our donkeys Daisy & Annie and our pigs, Spot, Dot & Maltilda on your way from the farm shop to the milk hut; where you can pick yourself up a bottle of milk or milkshake before you head home to carve your pumpkins!"
