Three “incredibly fit” supermarket workers are completing a series of fundraising challenges for children and young children with cancer.

Rory Evans, Kraig Buckley and Benjamin Breeze are cycling and running 60 miles throughout September to raise as much money to support the Young Lives vs Cancer charity

The trio have so far raised more than £1,000 from donations by colleagues and customers at Morrisons in Newtown to mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Jenny Coppell, Community Champion at Morrisons Newtown, said the store is “incredibly proud” of Rory, Kraig and Benjamin.

“We are as store so lucky that we have amazing colleagues who will do sponsored events like this and have three keen Cyclist who work here. Very well done to you all and a massive thank you from me.

Holli Kellett, Morrisons partnership lead at Young Lives vs Cancer, said: “I want to say a massive thank you to Morrisons Newtown, for organising such fantastic Childhood Cancer Awareness Month fundraising. All of the money raised throughout the month will support young people whose lives have been put on hold by cancer.

“As well as fundraising, we are hoping to shine a light on what it is like to be a child with cancer, and the impact this has on young people and their families too. The store’s enthusiasm for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month shows the ongoing dedication of Morrisons colleagues for Young Lives vs Cancer.”
