Llanrhaeadr's miserable start to the JD Cymru North season continued with a 4-0 defeat at home to 10 man Holywell Town.

Darren Andrews led the Wellmen to glory with a double with Jake Cooke and Zebb Edwards also on target while the latter also earned his marching orders.

Elsewhere Iwan Matthews held his nerve from the penalty spot as Guilsfield saw off the challenge of Conwy Borough to stay top of the table.

Jamie Hyne gave the Guils an early lead before Nathan Williams levelled for the Tangerines with 20 minutes remaining but the villagers had the final say with Matthews slotting home from the spot.

Meanwhile Penrhyncoch suffered late heartache in a 3-2 defeat at home to Llandudno.

A thrilling clash at Cae Baker saw Dean Seager's early minute opener for the visitors cancelled out by Geoff Kellaway's reply before Ifan Burrel gave the Roosters the lead early in the second-half.

However the lead did not last long with Marc Williams levelling and with time ebbing away the Seasiders snatched glory with an injury time winner from Morgan Owen.

Llanidloes Town were punished for a poor first-half display in a 6-2 defeat at home to Airbus UK Broughton.

Goals from Beau Cornish, George Peers and an Adam Davies double gave the Wingmakers an unassailable lead at the break.

Llanidloes were much improved after the break with Connor Bird and Dafydd Carruthers netting but Peers' second and Davies' third of the day ensured Airbus the points.
