THE Lion is an award-winning art hotel and restaurant in the charming rural village of Berriew.
This 400 year old hotel with its timber beamed interiors has been transformed by the owners Michael Davis and Andrew Logan’s artistic vision.
Andrew’s mirrored portraits and sculptures adorn the walls.
The Lion Art Hotel is an array of vivid colours, elegant and relaxed establishment that offers fine dining using locally sourced ingredients, a well-appointed bar and lounge, and overnight stays in comfortable art-themed hotel rooms.
The experienced general manager Lee Kendall, along with his small professional team, strive to ensure you receive the best possible experience whatever the occasion.
The hotel, which is situated in the middle of the village, is 17th century, with exposed oak beams and sections of original wattle and daub.
It is a former coaching inn and part of the bar was once used as the doctors surgery for the village.
The hotel is overlooked by St Bueno's Church and the river Rhiew flows nearby.
