A SECLUDED waterfall in the Brecon Beacons has been named one of the world's top skinny dipping locations.

Lady Falls came 22nd in the list compiled by dating reviews website MyDatingAdviser.com with a score of 51.5.

The seven-meter high waterfall on the river Afon Pyrddin in the Brecon Beacons National Park, is popular with visitors as it is easily accessible from the village trailhead in Pontneddfechan.

Amy Pritchett, managing editor at MyDatingAdviser: “This is my declaration to the world to have fun and skinny dip!

"The past year has been difficult and we have all experienced lockdown, grief, and disruption to our normal lives.

"There is nothing more liberating and joyful than a skinny dip. If you have the opportunity to visit a beautiful skinny dipping spot, then it’s worth stripping down, enjoying nature, and having a splash! Remember it’s not a big deal, and if the water is cold, even better!”

To determine the best spots around the world, the site looked at seven key metrics of skinny dipping friendliness: pollution, Blue Flag status, weather, air temperature, water temperature, safety, and hotel cost.

Top of the list was Lokrum Island, Dubrovnik in Croatia, followed by Spiaggia della Lecciona, Tuscany in Italy, and Maslin Beach, Adelaide in Australia.

To access Lady Falls start in Pontneddfechan. From here, it’s a 30-minute walk along the riverside to the waterfall. You will eventually come to a wooden bridge that you can cross and it leads you to the falls.

However, the website also issued a warning to any potential visitors that swimming at the falls can be dangerous and definitely do not jump off the top of the falls as people have been seriously injured.

Meanwhile, they also offered some tips for having a fun time skinny dipping:

1) Be respectful and have discretion. Try not to traumatize any small kids. We agree the human body is a beautiful thing but give people the opportunity not to look at you if they don’t want to.

2) Don’t forget sunscreen and bug spray. You don’t want to get a sunburn in that spot that usually doesn’t see the light of day.

3) Don’t skinny dip drunk. A little liquid courage could help you get naked. But if you are completely drunk, it isn’t safe to swim and could land you in a dangerous situation.

4) Beware of leeches. With a bathing suit, they are one thing, and when you are stark naked it’s another.

5) Make sure your friends are comfortable. If everyone is happy to strip down, then go for it.

6) Keep your eyes on people’s faces. Interact as you normally would and keep physical contact to a minimum.

7) No photos. If only celebrities and politicians could learn this too.

8) It’s not a big deal. Get over yourself and have fun. Remember that not even swimsuit models look like that in real life. So, relax and enjoy being naked.
