A WELSH rugby great will be visiting Oswestry next month.

Alun Wyn Jones will visit Oswestry School on Tuesday, September 14, from 7.30pm, for a live 'in person' event hosted by the town's Booka Bookshop.

Jones will talk about his incredible career and his new autobiography, Belonging, which looks at how he left Mumbles and returned as the most capped rugby player of all time.

Tim and Carrie Morris, from Booka, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting this event. It is the only event Alun will be doing for north and mid Wales.

"Please share the news with any rugby fans you know."

The event will be compered by sports writer and broadcaster Tom Fordyce, before the floor is opened up for a question and answer session.

The visit will follow hot on the heels of a visit by Welsh rugby union fly-half, Dan Biggar, who will be visiting Oswestry School for a session with schoolchildren on September 5.

Tickets for the Alun Wyn Jones visit, are £22 to include a signed copy of Belonging, are available from www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/an-evening-with-alun-wyn-jones-tickets-168724095311
