Llanidloes High School said it is "deeply proud" of its "wonderful" A level students who have achieved stellar results after another year of disruption to exams.

The school, which has one of the best performing Sixth Forms in the country, said it was delighted with the grades achieved this year.

Headteacher, Daniel Owen, said: “We are deeply proud of all our students who have worked tirelessly over the past two years and served as exemplary role models for younger pupils.

"They have adapted superbly well to a mix of online and face-to-face learning and thoroughly deserve their splendid results.

"We warmly congratulate you all on your success and wish you well as you move onto pastures new. We look forward to seeing you pop in with regular updates on how you’re getting on.

"I would also like to thank staff for supporting students so effectively over the last two years in extraordinarily challenging circumstances, enabling them to achieve such a strong set of results and gain places in their first-choice universities, apprenticeships and employment.

"For two out of the three years prior to the pandemic, Llanidloes Sixth Form was in The Times top ten Sixth Forms in Wales. We had hoped to achieve this feat again, but understand why comparative analyses of this kind have been suspended for another year.”

Chair of Governors, Margot Jones, added: “Congratulations to our wonderful students on their excellent results and to our marvellous, supportive team of staff.

She added: "Each year, our A level results serve as a reminder of why local Sixth Form education is overwhelmingly the most popular post-16 choice of students and parents across the county.”
