Potholes in North Powys are slowly being dealt with, say councillors at a North Powys community council.

The issue has been a regular topic on the agenda for Llangedwyn Community Council, and it was no different when they met on Wednesday, July 20 in Llangedwyn Village Hall.

The council says some progress has been made by Powys County Council - however major potholes at the entrance to Scrwgan Lane and at points along the lane are still awaiting rectification, as are those in Priddbwll Lane.

Elsewhere Llangedwyn School has agreed to house its defibrillator on an external wall for access by the whole community, with the community council looking into the purchase of a suitable box to house the defibrillator.

The council also says they are waiting on the production of a report on the threatened closure of Llangedwyn school and the possibility of creating extra spaces at Llansantffraid School to accommodate the transfer of additional pupils from Llangedwyn and Llanfechain.

Following a spate of accidents at Pentrefelin the request for a speed limit, below the national speed limit of 60mph, is also ongoing as further clarification is required as to responsibility for implementation and the costs involved.

Mrs E Williams has been elected to take up the role of clerk to Llangedwyn Community Council from September 2021.

The next meeting is to be held on Tuesday, September 21 starting at 7pm.

The council says that all are welcome to submit any issues for discussion via the Llangedwyn Community Website.
