A series of summer activities for children is set to get underway at a Welshpool museum, organisers say.

Y Lanfa Powysland Museum and Welshpool Library have teamed up with Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust for two archaeology activities, which will see youngsters making their own ancient Roman mosaics or medieval tiles - as well as seeing some real ones from the museum collection up close.

In the museum, there is a detective quiz for children and an activity pack, learning all abut the objects on display, while next door in the library, the summer reading challenge is underway again, and this year the theme is ‘Wild World Heroes’. The aim is to read at least 6 books, then come back to the library to collect a certificate and medal.

Organisers say there are limited places available and booking is essential while social distancing measures will be place with one social bubble allowed per booking.

For craft activities there are 2 sessions available and recommended ages of 4+. For archaeology activities there are 5, 15-minute slots available and recommended ages of 5+.
