Welshpool High School headteacher, Mr Josh Kinsey, shares with parents and pupils his on going commitment and vision for the school.

"I feel privileged to lead such a remarkable school, a school where the pupils show their tremendous potential on a daily basis, and where the staff work so hard to help them fulfil their ambitions.

"Our vision is to empower pupils to be their best. Every child should leave school well prepared for the next stage of their life. Regardless of their circumstances, children should receive excellent teaching, be challenged to exceed expectations, and supported through the difficult days.

"As a parent myself this is what I expect for my own children, and this is our commitment to the children of Welshpool High School.

"The school has a proud history of high levels of pupil achievement. This has been sustained over a number of years, with strong pupil outcomes at Year 11 and in our popular Sixth Form. These positive outcomes have been realised by offering a broad and balanced curriculum, high quality learning experiences, and through nurturing learners to be ambitious and confident.

"However, achievement is not just about academic success. We are justifiably proud of our pupils’ accomplishments in other areas, such as sport and the arts, alongside their cultural contribution to the local community. A number of our pupils represent Powys and Wales in these areas, and are supported in school with access to specialist and well-resourced facilities.

"As pupils progress through school, they can be assured that staff will go the extra mile for them. Our learners are overwhelmingly positive about Welshpool High School, feeling safe and supported whilst at school.

"We believe that regardless of interest or ability, our school provides an environment where pupils can learn, develop and thrive. Please get in contact if you are interested in finding out more about life at Welshpool High School."
