A prominent Llanfair Caereinion riverside building could be converted into a private residence under plans put before Powys County Council.

An application to convert Bridge House, on Bridge Street, from its current classification as retail (A1) and a cafe/bar(A3) into residential use, has been submitted to the council's planning department.

Until recently the property was operating as a base for licensed 'private chef dining facility' Just3Drops, but was put up for sale in 2019. The property has now been advertised as sold subject to contract.

"This lifestyle business has been operating for six years under the owners home along with the trade name 'Just3Drops'," reads the property brochure for the sale.

"The property has offered fine dining and music events and also has been hired out for private functions. This charming property still has many of its original features including exposed Welsh stone walls, exposed beams and an exposed Welsh stone inglenook which has a warming Rayburn inset."

The application will be considered by the county council later thjis year.
