A Bishop’s Castle police community support officer has been given rewarded for saving a missing woman’s life who was injured during a fall.

PCSO Shaun Culliss was presented with a Chief Superintendent's Commendation from West Mercia Police's Stuart Bill on Wednesday, July 7, for his "dedication and commitment to his community by using professional judgement” during the search for a missing person in Clun last year.

“This is the unseen work my team do,” Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector for South Shropshire, Inspector Nikki Roberts, said. “Shaun located and saved the life of a missing person who had fallen, seriously injuring herself. Not recorded in stats, not in the press but fantastic work and a positive contribution towards that lady's life and that of her family. Well done!”

Sergeant Damien Kelly, Safer Neighbourhood Team for south-west Shropshire, said he was “very proud” of PCSO Culliss for “brilliant professional judgment searching and finding a very vulnerable missing person”.
