A busy route toward the coast between Llangurig and Aberystwyth has been closed this afternoon(July 21) following a "serious police incident".
Traffic Wales say the A44 near Aberystwyth is closed in both directions between Lovesgrove and Goginan due to an incident which occurred on the Lovesgrove roundabout in Ceredigion this afternoon.
"The A44 travelling between Lovesgrove and Goginan in both directions is closed due to a serious police incident," said Traffic Wales.
Police say emergency services are now at the scene of the incident, which ocurred at around 3.15pm.
Meanwhile the AA's Roadwatch team stated: "Road closed and queueing traffic due to accident on A44 both ways between Coginan and A4159 (Lovesgrove Roundabout)."
Motorists have been urged to find alternative routes if travelling in the area.
