A Newtown man is facing jail after he admitted causing actual bodily harm to a woman.
Daniel William Hughes, who is on remand at HMP Berwyn, entered a guilty plea to assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm when he appeared via videolink at Mold Crown Court on Friday (July 16).
Judge Niclas Parry adjourned sentencing for later this week and told the 24-year-old to "certainly come prepared" for a prison sentence.
The court heard that Hughes was given a 10-month suspended sentence on April 20 for dangerous driving.
Judge Parry said: "You have done something very sensible in pleading guilty. You will be given significant credit for your early guilty plea. A quarter will be knocked off.
"However, it is a very serious matter. You are young, and you have not been to prison before."
Judge Parry ordered a progress report and told Hughes, of Crescent Gardens, he will reappear for sentencing at Mold Crown Court on July 21.
