Powys has seen a significant increase in new cases of coronavirus in recent weeks – with Newtown being at the heart of the increase.
Indeed, the rate of new cases in under-25s in Powys is the worst in Wales, the latest figures show.
The County Times has now taken another look at Public Health Wales data that reveals where cases are arising.
The figures show that the areas around Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells have so far escaped the worst of the third wave of the pandemic.
Newtown, as has been well documented, is the worst-hit part of the county.
Abermule and Llanfair Caereinion have also seen a rise in cases per 100,000 residents, while Ystradgynlais – which has seen the most cases overall since the pandemic began – has so far not seen a significant spike in Covid cases.
The figures are the latest available from the Public Health Wales data dashboard, and cover the seven days to July 10.
