Llanidloes Croquet Club is urging people to come along to one of their events to help raise money for life saving research.

The Club will be holding one-hour taster sessions later this month with all money raised going to the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Speaking ahead of the event, Janet Crisp, secretary at Llanidloes Croquet Club, said: "We’re really looking forward to our events. We hope as many people as possible will support us in our fundraising endeavours to help beat heartbreak forever.

“We are hoping to raise a substantial amount for the BHF’s life saving research, which will help make a difference to the lives of those fighting a daily battle with heart conditions.”

The Croquet Association has chosen the nation’s heart charity as their charity this year to help raise vital funds and celebrate the British Heart Foundation’s 60th anniversary.

This is the first time the Llanidloes Croquet Club has held the fundraiser and the money raised will go towards the BHF’s research to help prevent and treat heart and circulatory disease.

Vicki Carswell, BHF Fundraising Manager, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to The Croquet Association for their amazing support. The money raised helps fund ground-breaking discoveries and identify new treatments that could help save more people from the devastating effects of heart disease.”

Bookings are now being taken for the £5-per-session events that will be held at Llanidloes Croquet Club, Llangurig Road, at 6pm on Tuesday, July 27, and 2pm on Wednesday, July 28.
