A popular bar and grill in Newtown will temporarily close just weeks after its big launch.
23 Social will shut for two days while some staff self-isolate, and a deep clean is carried out at the Broad Street venue.
Posting on social media on Monday afternoon, a spokesperson for 23 Social said the bar and grill will be closed on Wednesday (July 7) and Thursday (July 8).
The statement said: “Due to the number of local Covid outbreaks in the area, this has meant that some of our staff have had to self-isolate. This has made a big impact on our service over the weekend and added a severe amount of pressure to our team. With this being the case, our staff, customers and community’s safety has to be our highest priority.
"Therefore we have taken the decision to close this coming Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th to carry out a precautionary deep clean and allow our staff time to carry out their isolation period.
"This has not been an easy decision however we feel this is the best and safest option to ensure we can be back to full staff capacity and service for the coming weekend."
23 Social said customers who have made bookings with the venue will be contacted by staff.
