THE Welsh Government has confirmed fans will be allowed back into Welsh sporting stadiums from Monday.

The finer details and protocols are being finalised over the weekend and will be published as soon as possible, said a government spokesman.

However with the move to alert level one on Monday it will mean the 15 month wait for fans is finally over.

First Minister Mark Drakeford has confirmed as part of the new rules that up to 30 people can meet outdoors, including in private gardens, outdoor hospitality and public places.

However the easing of restrictions also means larger outdoor organised gatherings and events, such as concerts, football matches and sporting activities, can also go ahead.

The regulations mean up to 4,000 people standing and 10,000 people seated will be permitted inside Welsh sporting venues - easily ensuring all domestic Welsh clubs can now look forward to welcoming back their long-suffering supporters.

All organisers planning events and activities must undertake a full risk assessment and put in place measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, including social distancing.
