The A458 has reopened after being closed in both directions following a collision between a motorcycle and a car on Tuesday, June 1.
Traffic North Wales imagery showed tailbacks in both directions between Buttington and Garreg Bank following the collision, which took place on Cefn Bridge, near Trewern, at around 3.30pm. The road is understood to have reopened shortly after 8pm.
The AA's TravelWatch service reported: "Road closed and queueing traffic due to accident, car vs motorcycle involved on A458 both ways from Buttington to Garreg Bank."
Elsewhere motorists were reporting heavy traffic on Criggion Lane as drivers attempted to skirt round the incident, with delays also reported in Llandrino.
Bus services were also affected by the disruption, with Llanidloes firm Celtic Travel cancelling services between Welshpool and Shrewsbury.
A statement from the company said: "Due to an accident on Cefn bridge, Trewern, there will be no X75 service 15.35 from Welshpool to Shrewsbury and no X75 service 16.30 from Shrewsbury to Welshpool. Apologies for any inconvenience caused."
