A man accused of threatening a woman with a rifle in a village near Newtown will stand trial after pleading not guilty.

Adrian Gibson, 56, denied two charges of having the weapon with intent to cause unlawful violence alleged to have taken place in Kerry on April 23 and 24 this year.

Gibson, of Mile Oak, Tamworth, appeared in court via videolink from HMP Berwyn on Friday morning (May 28) during a short hearing where he entered not guilty pleas.

Judge Niclas Parry remanded Gibson in custody and set a date for a trial to start at Mold Crown Court on December 15.

The trial is scheduled to last for two days.
