A brand new McDonald's restaurant is set to open in Welshpool this week.

Located near to the A483 Buttington roundabout, the fast-food chain will open at 11am on Wednesday, May 26.

Franchisee Bob Beckett said: “We are really looking forward to opening our doors and welcoming customers into our new restaurant. I would like to thank everyone who has helped us to make this investment in Welshpool.”

The new restaurant, which includes a drive thru facility and 26 car park spaces, will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

McDonald's said the restaurant will create at least 65 new jobs, which will be a mixture of part-time and full-time.

Customers at the new Welshpool restaurant will also be able to use the My McDonald’s App to order and pay for their food ahead of time.

Building work on land next to Buttington Cross Enterprise Park, near the livestock market, began in late 2020 after plans were given the green light by Powys County Council last summer.
