Newtown Textile Museum will be opening for the summer with a new items and memorabilia on display.
Among the changes made are a new display of some of the Pryce Jones memorabilia and a dress from our collection that has not been shown before.
A new Belgian loom which was a gift from the Laura Ashley factory when it closed down is also a new feature at the museum.
A special exhibition telling the story of the 2019 `Sheep to Sugar’ project which studied the links between cloth woven in mid and north Wales in the 1700s (Welsh plains) and the slaves in the West Indies and USA.
The museum in Commercial Street will reopen to visitors at noon on Tuesday, May 25, and will be open to visitors on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from noon until 4pm, until the end of September.
