MONTGOMERYSHIRE Vintage Club members recently held a tractor run event in memory for their late club president.

Club members turned out in force at the Gron Bumford Memorial Tractor Run on Sunday, May 16, to raise funds for Gron’s family’s chosen charity.

While complying which the Welsh Government Covid restrictions, the group of 30 toured the communities of Cyfronydd and Llanfair Caereinion after setting off from Milton and Meg Evans’ farm.

Tractors then travelled up towards Cefn Coch and onto New Mills, before picking up the Adfa Road and turning across the mountain road to Borfa Hafod.

Drivers paused to take in the views before heading towards Bwlch y Ffirdd.

Tractors turned uphill to Bettws Hill and moved across the slopes of Highgate Hill to the finger post before descending to Bettws Cedewain.

Village folk came out to spectate and the convey took the turn for Brooks, heading for the dinner stop at Glomen by kind permission of Mike Jones.

After everyone had replenishment, it was off again through Brooks where the tractors turned for Llidiardu, onto Felindre, turning back for Manafon.

They then retraced their tracks past the Graig Holiday Complex and back to Cyfronydd and the finish.
